Heat lamps have now been discontinued by this global leader in incubation and brooding, in favour of the safer, and cheaper, heat pad technology.

The brooder stands in the brooding enclosure with the chicks and has three height settings, so it can be raised up as the chicks grow. It’s tough plastic outer makes it durable and easy to clean – always a bonus where chicks are involved!

Each brooder will brood up to 20 chicks and runs on only 18 watts of power – which is extraordinarily economical when you compare it to the minimum 150W emitters usually used in brooding lamps. It also runs on a low 12v circuit, through an transformer, for peace of mind.

(Please note, the only negative feedback we have had on these units came second hand from a user in Germany, who stated that the heat emitted was too low. This has been corrected by Brinsea and these units now produce ten times the radiated heat of the original units. Just in case you have heard rumours and were worried!)
